Jeanne Dudley

Jeanne Dudley is a retired High School Visual Arts teacher, having taught 33 years at North-Linn Community Schools encouraging young artists to express themselves. Jeanne has a MA in Fiber Arts and Art Education, and has been a basket weaver since 1985 having woven over 4400 baskets. Jeanne also ties beautiful brooms that often bear distinctive handles and unique details.

Artist’s Statement

I enjoy designing most of my own patterns. Several of my basket weaving skills are incorporated into the making of my hand-tied brooms, also. I have been tying brooms for over 14 years, and I continue in my love for teaching. I have taught basket weaving and broom making in Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Additionally, I have a weaving studio in my home where I also teach. I like to keep in touch with other artists; therefore, I am a member of many local and national weaving guilds.
